Krystal McKay is from Nak’Azdli Whuten, grew up in Chilliwack, currently calls Tk’emlups te Secwepemc home and is a humble guest in beautiful Secwepemcúl’ecw.
Krystal was a legal assistant and paralegal in the Lower Mainland for 15 years and decided to take the leap and obtain her Juris Doctor in 2020. Krystal moved to Kamloops with her husband and young son to pursue her law degree at Thompson Rivers University, and shortly after graduation in 2023, welcomed a daughter to her family.
After a brief leave, Krystal started her articles with Alexander Stewart Lawyers and was called to the bar in June 2025.
Krystal practices in the areas of family law and civil litigation. Krystal’s interests include issues that are unique in nature that arise on-reserve. Having worked during her time in law school with area First Nations and studying law related to First Nations in Canada, Krystal appreciates the complexity of issues that people face while navigating issues on reserve.
Krystal enjoys time outdoors with her children and can often be found with a cup of coffee and a book during her down time.
